Country, Landscapes Seashore, Seascapes
Figurative, Genre Horses, Animals
New

There are eight galleries, seven of which are organized according to motif. Understandably, some pieces could fall into more than one gallery. For example, some Country pieces have figures, but weren't put in the Figurative gallery.) It would be wise to tour several galleries for your favorite subject matter. )

Each motif displays the various painting styles: Representative, Post-Impressionist, and Moderne.

Snow, High Country
Snow paintings have two distinct features; (1) In the midst of dwellings, and (2) Texture and multi-colors. High Country paintings emphasize valleys and lakes that sustain life.

Country, Landscapes
As was famously said, "That which is worthwhile in landscape painting is the expression of human emotion in it." Hence do we select work based on subjective personality, emotional content and mood.

Seashore, Seacapes
The sea is at once magnificent and unforgiving, beauty-full and terrifying. Above all, relentless; wearing us down, lifting us up. This gallery shows man coexisting with the many personalities of the sea.

Town, Village, Home
Making buildings "come alive" is difficult is even the best of artists. Even for them, it's hardly possible to catch more than one "glint" at a time. To wit, the presence of unseen humans, with all their sweetness, beauty, and love.

Figurative, Genre
"Archetypal" portraits (emblematic of a certain period or culture) are what we offer (no Ancestor paintings!). "Genre" paintings (people doing interesting things) are also presented.

Horses, Animals
Horse paintings are the majority. (Chickens are usually depicted in Town, Village and Home gallery.) Cows are seldom available, because they're too pricey at European auctions.

Still Life, Other
Majority are flowers, some fruit, and a rare nature morte.

New
Pieces not yet ready for sale, because they're in route, in restoration, or framing.

Listed Artists

We take great care in acquiring our pieces at old-line auction houses in Denmark, sometimes Sweden and Germany, as well as Austria.

Most artists are listed. Biographies list their training and eduction, exhibitions, awards, studies abroad, museum collections and other fascinating information. We source this information through the State Museum for Artists in Copenhagen, who sponsor www.kid.dk, the online access to Weilbachs Artist Lexicon (9 volumes, 8,550 pages).
